Equinox = Springtime Sweet Treat

recipe spring Mar 20, 2023

In Springtime we mostly want to focus on the bitter, astringent, and pungent tastes to help clear the liver and cleanse the tissues of the body.

However, every once in a while a sweet treat is nice. The best sweetener for Kapha season (Spring) is honey as it is warming and actually helps to clear out stagnation and gunk in the body.

This recipe also includes some of the bitter astringent tastes via the tahini, sesame seeds, and cacao nibs. Healthy treats can be so fun!

If you are in the mood for a sweet treat, I invite you to try out this recipe I recently created.

Lemon Sesame Treats

1 cup sesame tahini

1/4 - 1/2 cup honey

zest from 2 organic lemons

1/8 tsp. salt

2 T. sesame seeds for coating

1 T. cacao nibs (optional)

Put everything in a food processor, except the sesame seeds and nibs.

Blend well. If the consistency is too dry, add a little lemon juice and blend again.

Add in the nibs, if you are using them.

Shape into little balls and roll in sesame seeds.

Keeps well in the refrigerator for a few days.

Let me know what you think of these… (this recipe is in the Spring Detox Recipe Book too!)
