Healing Is Often Quiet

Healing is not always a grand transformation or a dramatic breakthrough. More often, it's found in the smallest, most tender moments… the ones that go unseen by others, but are deeply felt by you.

Healing isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s the quiet choice to rest, to say no, or to breathe a little deeper than yesterday.

This is the sacred heart of holistic healing — understanding that wellness is not just about doing more or being more, but about tuning into your body’s quiet wisdom. Ayurveda teaches us to appreciate our innate, constitutional gifts at each stage of life.

When navigating the menopausal transition, from the late 30's through early 50's, and honestly for the rest of our lives beyond, there is often a shift in what we are willing to give our energy to. With hormone fluctuations leading to higher cortisol sensitivity, our resiliency to stress plummets and we can find ourselves feeling critical of our changing emotional/mental capacities, weight gain around the middle, digestive issues, and sleep disturbances.

But, what if these new awarenesses, honoring our boundaries better and not increasing stress, are superpowers, not shortcomings or failures? They certainly go a long way toward avoiding the undesireable outcomes listed above.

When we redefine what a beautiful, meaningful, well-lived life is, from the vantage point of this second puberty, we may find our old goals don't resonate any more. The pushing and striving gives way to authenticity and reverence for the ineffability of life.

Let your vision of wellbeing invigorate your decisions, like saying no to the things that drain you… and saying yes to slow mornings, nourishing meals, and boundaries that honor your nervous system. Stress is no longer fuel for greater drive and passion at this point in life, it is more like a hole in the gas tank.

In choosing to reset your priorities, not out of weakness, but out of reverence for your wholeness, healing might look like:
✨ Taking a walk without your phone.
✨ Skipping the TV show or podcast to reach out to a friend.
✨ Drinking tea while watching the sunrise.
✨ Letting go of guilt about something not in your control.

May we be nourished as we navigate personal, communal, and planetary evolution. May beings everywhere be safe, happy, and well.
