Healing Trauma with Yoga

Happy Easter, Passover, and Ramadan. These holidays of redemption can inspire us to focus on our own healing.

This past week I had the pleasure of interviewing Becca Odom, therapist and fellow yoga teacher, about the power of yoga to heal trauma. It was an incredibly inspiring conversation. Becca explained why and how our nervous systems are re-triggered after traumatic events. She also taught us some techniques that we can easily practice to heal trauma through focusing on the body.

We all have some form(s) of trauma in our individual lives. And, these past two years have been a collective trauma for all humans globally. Therefore, healing trauma is work we ALL need to do to show up fully in this life and ensure we don't pass trauma on to the next generation.

I believe we are in this life journey to heal. There are many paths to healing and our personal work is to find the path that is right for each of us. Yoga is one path.
