Happy December!

As we move toward the winter solstice and holidays, staying cozy and nourished will help you navigate this season with ease!

This time of year we need to build our inner vitality, which in Ayurveda is called ojas.

Ojas translates as "our essential vitality sap" which I think of as our inner well of abundance. When we have abundant ojas our skin glows, we have ample energy, and look upon the world with patience and generosity.

Ojas Energy Drink is a lovely alternative to hot chocolate that is nutritious, tasty, AND builds ojas!

Try out this Ayurvedic beverage that is especially yummy when it is cold outside.

Ojas Energy Drink

3 Medjool Dates (soaked overnight and peeled)
10 Almonds (soaked overnight, rinsed and peeled)
1 tsp. ghee
1 pinch cardamom
1 pinch saffron (optional)
1.5 cups warm milk (or unsweetened milk alternative)

*Put the prepared almonds in the blender with 1/2 c. milk and blend until smooth
*Add the rest of the ingredients and blend again until smooth

*Enjoy!

Most of us are depleted of ojas and the best way to rebuild it is sleep. Secondarily, a nourishing diet, movement, and fulfilling relationships build ojas. This drink can be a nice, supportive treat from time to time.

If you are looking for an amazing, in-person, ojas-building New Year's experience, look no further than the Habit Maker's Retreat in beautiful Abingdon, VA. I will be teaching Ayurveda alongside other fabulous teachers sharing yoga, meditation, and creative processes. Learn habit-making skills to turn your goals into reality. It's happening January 13-15, 2023. I would love to start out the new year in your company.

With love and light,

Hannah
