One of the Niyamas (or internal ethics) as taught in yoga is called Svadyaya (say it out loud - its fun to say), which means "self-study" or "self-reflection."

Studying ourselves is a big part of the curriculum in the Vitality Circle. Here are some questions to ponder for yourself, right now:

What motivates you?

What habits do you have in place that you love? What habits do you dislike?

How do you behave in different types of company, or when you are alone?

What do you know leads to you feeling great? Or, feeling crappy?

How uncomfortable do you get when you are away from digital connectivity?

Let's zero in on this last question for a moment:

With an onslaught of surreal and unbelievably painful news, celebrity disclosures, and upheaval in so many aspects of life we have taken for granted, how is our relationship to technology helping or hindering us?

Yesterday was the annual day for Earth Hour, and Earth Day coming up next month. I'd like to encourage all of us to be intentional about connecting more with the natural world around us as it's waking up into Spring, and less on the chaos of the constant onslaught of daily challenges around the globe.

Protect your nervous system.

Tend to your own hearth, home, and heart.

Be more engaged as a social being, and less as a consumer of social media.

There is a quiet kind of freedom that comes from unplugging from social media âś¨

Freedom from comparison, from constant input, from the feeling that you need to be “on” all the time.

When you step away, space opens up to hear yourself, to feel your body, and to be present with your life as it’s unfolding, catching inspirations of creativity.

Unplugging isn’t about restriction.
It’s about reclaiming your attention and your freedom.
