Happy New Year! 2026 is off to a great start, as the Stroll vs. Scroll Challenge is underway with morning strolls January 1-7. Have you been joining me in this endeavor? It's a simple yet powerful commitment to take a gentle morning stroll, no matter the weather, before reaching for your phone or looking at any screens.
The Stroll vs. Scroll challenge is a little experiment to intentionally change how you start the day. Notice how it affects every other part of your life. It's partly just for fun and partly for the profound outcomes it provides.
As James Clear, author of Atomic Habits reminds us: "Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become."
Starting a new year is an opportunity to notice what actions you are taking and who you are becoming, and by the same token... what you are resisting or ignoring.
Mr. Clear further states, "New goals don't deliver new results. New lifestyles do. And a lifestyle is a process, not an outcome. For this reason, all of your energy should go into building better habits, not chasing better results.”
Ayurveda is the basic wisdom of consistently performing actions (as daily habits) that create incredible outcomes for our health and wellbeing, naturally!
